Guernsey Herring Gull Seen in Suffolk, England
Herring Gull White 6.AA4, ringed as a chick on Lihou Island off the west coast of Guernsey, was seen on 26 January 2010 at Sizewell, Suffolk, England (Jon Gibbs). This movement north-east (429 km) is unusual, as most locally born Herring Gulls either linger around the Channel Islands in winter, or disperse west and south along the French Channel coast, travelling as far as the Vendee and Loire-Atlantique regions.
