A wonderful 90 minutes at Chouet landfill this morning resulted in c 250 LBBG colour ring reads - a record for the site, and a reflection of another successful season ringing new full-grown birds. All birds were ringed locally. In all more than 300 ring reads were made this morning - the rest manly locally-ringed Herring Gulls. There were no juvenile gulls observed in the landfill this morning...but it won't be long now before they start to increase away from the colonies!
