The calmer and slightly milder weather seems to have encouraged a few more locally nesting
Lesser Black-backed Gulls to return over the past 24 hours or so. With Chouet landfill closed for the second consecutive day (Easter Monday) c
550 LBBGs were bathing and resting on the beaches at Chouet until the dog walkers arrived - enabling me to record
25 of my colour ringed birds. Also recorded were two locally metal ringed LBBGs - including one ringed by me on
Burhou, Alderney in July 1991 (E 4937).
