Dutch, British and Guernsey Lesser Black-backed Gulls at Chouet landfill
A return visit to Chouet landfill yesterday lunchtime paid off with an increase in Lesser Black-backed Gulls to 30 birds (from the eight seen first thing in the morning). I looked in vain for any Guernsey colour ringed birds, but fortunately a metal ringed bird was close enough to read the ring - Jersey E 4421. This Lesser Black-backed Gull had been ringed as a chick by Jamie Hooper in one of the Sark colonies in July 2001. I saw this bird on Chouet landfill Beach on 14/04/09.
A Dutch Lesser Black-backed Gull (Red MF) (Roland-Jan Buijs) was visible on the main road across the landfill...and then the next bird seen was carrying ring Blue CZU (from Gloucester - Peter Stewart).
